 Voice technology is the fastest growing technology to-date and for the healthcare industry, it has the potential to completely revolutionize the patient experience. There’s just one roadblock: voice assistants, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Home, aren’t HIPAA-compliant. Yet.

 

HIPAA-compliant devices are “inevitable” says Bill Rodgers, CEO of Orbita. Some companies have already begun to utilize omnichannel environments and build enterprise-level HIPAA-compliant apps, such as Ask Marvee and Pillo Health, a voice-activated medication dispenser.

 

For Amazon, Google and Microsoft, the race is on to see who will be the first to transform the healthcare industry as we know it.
